About the event
In this presentation, Damien HALL will provide an overview of the facts and some theories about French as it is encountered online, or more specifically in computer-mediated communication: the internet, SMS, messaging platforms… Is this variety of French different from others? If there is a difference, does it matter? Can online French shed light on the linguistics of the French language? We will see that this variety of French should not be dismissed, as some might argue.
