Architect Jean Paul Philippon is known mainly for the 1986 conversion of the gare d’Orsay into the Musée d’Orsay art Gallery. But In 1998, in Roubaix, he was involved in another unusual project. The transformation of an art deco swimming pool into a beautiful museum of art and industry.

Jean-Paul Philippon, architecte français, est surtout connu pour sa reconversion de la Gare d'Orsay à Paris qui en 1986 devient le Musée d'Orsay. En 1998 c'est dans la cité industrielle de Roubaix qu'il s'attaque au projet de transformation de la piscine municipale construite en 1932 dans le style art déco pour réaliser La Piscine où arts appliqués et beaux-arts se côtoient dans un cadre tout à fait atypique.
