At the end of the first world war , many french intellectuals were drawn to communism . Drawn by a desire for pacifism and /or a revulsion toward capitalism american style, they fell into a trap, seduced by Stalin and his henchmen.

Au sortir de la première guerre mondiale, une partie de l’intelligentsia française se tourne vers le communisme, soit par pacifisme, soit par haine du capitalisme à l’américaine. Fascinés par la révolution bolchévique de 1917, de nombreux intellectuels, dont Romain Rolland, André Breton, Louis Aragon, André Malraux, André Gide et Jean-Paul Sartre, tombent dans le piège de la séduction tendu par Staline et ses acolytes
